This calendar is a draft Javier Largen Castilian emerging artist and designer Leon has previously exhibited in the DA2 in 2008 in the exhibition "Rock My Religion" and the Youth Space Hall Salamanca
The artist has collected Six English fashion designers and asked them designs to be worn by women of different ages and professions who have or have had breast cancer.
The calendar presented here combines the artistic photographs of 12 different designs
The calendar has been funded entirely by private companies Castilian Leon and its benefits are for the English Association Against AECC Cancer.
Recent epidemiological studies indicate it is estimated that in the first two decades of XXI century 1 in 12 women will develop breast cancer in Spain during his life.
The trend is up and quite possibly in the coming years will reach the figure of 1 in 10, as in the industrialized countries of our environment.
Age: between 45 and 65 is seen most often when the disease, but increasingly are being seen cases in younger women, even below 35 or 30 years
breast cancer acts very quiet. A woman can go for years with the disease and found perfectly. But if all breast cancers were diagnosed in the early stages of development, cure rates reach figures close to 80%.
make visible through the visual arts and fashion this disease is a way to normalize and to sensitize public opinion to deal with it.
the solidarity project which is part of this calendar is related to the desire not to hide the traces of a devastating disease against which we must all be vigilant, but at the same time tries to dignify a playful way the struggle of women who suffer or have suffered, making a glamorous players fashion editorial.
When each of these brave models confesses his name, age and profession and poses with daring designs and make-up artists who have participated in this project, we are saying
" Look, I am a woman who has had breast cancer, I am a vulnerable, but I will not to remain attractive to give up or continue fighting for me and all women who face this disease
All profits from this project will be delivered to the AECC English Association Against Cancer
